Care Guide

We put together a comprehensive cleaning guide based on the fiber content of your garment. You can find the fiber content in the product listing and on your garment's laundry tag.

CLEANING GUIDE: CASHMERE/SUPIMA© COTTON

Garments composed of 15% cashmere, 85% SUPIMA© should cleaned every time your garment comes in contact with sweat and dirt. This material is machine washable, but if you want to be extra gentle, you can hand wash it too.

TO CLEAN

This material is machine washable in cold water up to 30°C. Since the knit is more supple than your standard cotton tshirt, we suggest you allow your sweater to dry flat rather than tumble dry.

Read the CASHMERE/MERINO WOOL section for hand washing instructions.

CLEANING GUIDE: CASHMERE/MERINO WOOL

Garments composed of 30% cashmere, 70% extrafine merino wool should not be cleaned after every wear. We suggest you clean your garments every seven to ten wears, and at the end of each winter season.

Provide yourself 15 to 20 minutes to hand wash your cashmere/merino wool sweaters, plus drying time.

KNITWEAR FAQ

WHAT IS PILLING?

Tiny yarn balls form on knitted clothes caused by the migration of shorter fibers to the fabric surface, typically due to friction. Pilling is a common and natural occurrence. Removing pills does not impact the shape of the garment.

Use a long-handled boar-bristle cashmere brush to help remove lint, fuzz, and dust between wears and washes. A sweater comb will also help remove stray pills, without damaging the knit.

WILL MY GARMENT SHRINK?

Agitation (friction) and heat will cause sweater fibers to compact and felt, causing shrinking. Do not place your garment in the washer or dryer unless your garment's laundry label and fiber content specifically allows for it. Avoid excessive running water and hot water when washing.

SNAGGING

Our garments are knitted from fine yarn. Be careful around zippers, fasteners, straps, hooks, and jewelry, as they can pull, snag, and tear the fibers. Be especially mindful if your garment has visible floats – longer pieces of yarn found on the inverse of colorful patterns and designs.

STAINS

Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals. Put a small amount of detergent or baby shampoo on a cotton swab and rub it into the stain. Let sit and then rinse in lukewarm water and dry flat.

STORAGE

Fold your garment to store. Do not use a hanger as it will ruin the shape over time. When placing your garment in long-term storage, use a garment bag or box, or both. Since cashmere attracts moths, we recommend placing a moth repellent, such as cedar wood, in the box.
